WELCOME TO AMPED
AMPED™ IS A REVOLUTIONARY YOUTH TALENT COMPETITION & DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME TARGETED AT UNDER 19, HIGH-SCHOOL STUDENTS
The vision of AMPED™ is to develop the Youth of South Africa at grassroots level through edutainment. AMPED™ provides a 9-month talent and leadership development programme for high-school, under 19 learners in grades 9 -12 across 200 schools in Gauteng, South Africa.
The AMPED™ programme focuses on two distinct areas of the entertainment industry, creative development for aspiring performers and business development for future entertainment industry professionals. AMPED™ provides an in-depth understanding of the entertainment industry with a focus on singing, dancing, presenting, artist management and ancillary branding and marketing functions.
The ‘AMPED™ way’ offers participants practical development within a competition format to creative learners in the fields of Dance, Vocals (Singing, Rap) and Presenting (Television, Radio, Live), taking learners from audition phase at the outset, all the way through to workshops and masterclass training in order to strengthen existing creative capability and allow for the transfer of technical skills and business knowledge of the entertainment industry. As the AMPED™ programme progresses, learners are filtered at each phase until a Top 100 is reached. AMPED™ launches these brands into the online space for voting, giving the local and global public community an opportunity to witness young, fresh, homegrown talent and ultimately decide on their AMPED™ Top 10.
The business programme offers training to prospective business managers in the areas of Entrepreneurship, Brand Development and Personal Leadership with a strong emphasis on current socio-cultural issues. Dubbed AMPLeaders, these learners compete through a series of presentations, pitches and tasks assigned at each phase of the AMPED™ journey. AMPED™ provides exclusive access for both creative and business contestants, to our network of Local and International Superstars and Industry Entertainment Professionals, who serve as mentors and judges, in order to simulate a realistic industry experience.
At the end of the 9-month journey, AMPED™ culminates in AMPEDFEST™, Joburg’s biggest under 19 music festival. At this phase, one winner is announced in each category and the AMPED™ Top 10 take to the stage to showcase their very best. The AMPED™ Top 10 are also afforded the opportunity to shine on the same stage as some of the biggest local and international artists. This is a special prize for the AMPED™ Top 10 as they get to perform to a crowd with thousands of fans for the very first time. Other prizes include professionally shot videos, one-on-one masterclasses, designer outfit sponsorship, a cash prize for each of the category winners, prizes for the best AMPED™ school and much more!
